Fresco

Fresco is a 2D explorative pixel art game that lets the player explore a surreal world with their eyes and ears. 

The development of this game arose from an interest in exploring the potential of games as a poetic medium, and how an aesthetic approach to practice impacts a developer's creative expression. 

I wanted to develop a game in the same way one could write poetry; freely, creatively and expressively. I also wanted the game to feel poetic. Whereby poetic is the end result of the intended aesthetic that poetry delivers, not the characteristics of the medium itself.

The game requires the player to slow down and listen, to explore with their ears as much as with their eyes.

All music, audio, code, art and design were done by me.
